We are incredibly grateful to staff at Loughborough College who are taking on the Isle of Wight Challenge in April 2023 - walking 106km around the island, and in the process raising money for PACE.
You can donate to the team's fund raising through our FUNDRAISING PAGE. We'll have regular updates from Jesse and the team on the PACE Facebook page during the challange in April.
Here's what Jesse and the team have to say about their upcoming adventure:
Great challenges need great settings – and few are better than the Island’s stunning coastal path. Up to 2,000 adventurers will take on the Isle of Wight in April 2023 – with all out to push themselves further. It is along the spectacular southern cliffs, past the iconic Needles, and up to historic Cowes at the halfway stop. For Full Island challengers it is on to historic Ventnor, and back to our welcome base camp in Chale after an epic 106km journey.
Team 1909 will be undertaking the 2023 Isle of Wight Challenge, to raise funds for Loughborough College chosen charity PACE. Each team member has self-funded their entry into the event. The team will conduct 16 training walks in the build up to the main event.
The Team saw this is as a fantastic opportunity to take us out of our comfort zones, a fantastic way to stay fit and healthy over the winter months, and a great mental health booster. in addition, to bring the college community together, generate awareness and publicity for the great work PACE are doing for the local community. (Bonus you get a glass of fizz at the end!)
You can get involved with Team 1909, coming along to training walks, you can sponsor our challenge walk, you can promote us via your socials to help raise awareness, and get people inspired to do a challenge of their own (or this one).
If you are interested in supporting us please contact Jesse Jackson at jesse.jackson at loucoll.ac.uk I will be happy to have a chat.
